Meet Fred Newman!

Join DUENDE: Drama & Literature and Calaveras County Arts Council in Angels Camp at the beautiful Bret Harte Theatre on February 25 for an evening with the sound genius Fred Newman of "A Prairie Home Companion," the Muppets, "Nickelodeon,""Between the Lions," and many other movies and TV shows.

Fred will read from Mouthsounds, published this year by Workman Publishing. In conversation with KVML's Sebastian Kunz he will tell how he made a career out of a journey that he began making rude sounds in elementary school and deepened with hearing traditional story-tellers in his native Georgia. He'll show how he does it and invite everyone to spice up their speech with an amazing variety of effects.

After the performance, Fred will sign copies of Mouthsounds which are available at local bookstores for the amazingly low price of $13.95 (including a CD) or can be bought in the lobby.
